Natalie vs Gabby 6 month Stats:

So I wanted to do a quick comparison of Natalie vs. Gabby as far as growth is concerned, so I dug through Natalie's charts and this is how they compare:

Birth:

Natalie:  5 lbs 15 oz; Height:  17 3/4 inches
Gabby:  6 lbs 11 oz; 19 inches

2 months:

4 months:

Natalie:  11 lbs;  24 1/2 inches
Gabby:  12 lbs 10 oz;  23.75 inches

6 months:

Natalie:  13 lbs 10 oz; 25 1/2 inches
Gabby:  15 lbs; 25 1/4 inches

Seems that they are similar in height though Natalie started off shorter but grew to be taller; Gabby on the otherhand is heavier and shorter.  I bet Gabby gets the shorter genes while Natalie has the taller!

Gabby's Head Follow Up

We had a follow up on Gabby's head the other day.  Her head was measuring 17 1/2 inches and that placed her in the 97% which is up from the 92%, but only slightly.  Her new doctor in Yongsan said after reviewing the scans that he was not concerned with her head growth at all. She shows no sign of any tumors or hydrocephalus and he predicts that her head will stay in the 90-100% from here on out!

Since we were already there, he also did her 6 month check up a little early.

Weight:  15.0 lbs (40%)
Height:   25.25 inches (50%)
Head:  17.5 inches (97%)

She can sit, has two teeth, is trying to crawl, and grab objects (mostly left handed, so hopefully she will be our leftie) and can roll around the floor. Developmentally, she is advanced on her motor skills, average on the fine motor skills.  WOO HOO! I think she will be like her Daddy and be a go getter!

We have to have one more head followup in 2 months then her 9 month check up and if those come back with her head in the same percentiles then we will get released from further testing. If her head grows to exceed the 100% then we will have a CT.  Lets pray that her head growth goes smoothly!

Shoe Tying and bike riding

Sleeping Beauty with her favorite blanket and seahorse.  The Blanket is by far her favorite lovie, but the seahorse she sleeps with nightly.

Natalie was feeding Gabby breakfast. Look how she opens her mouth to show Gabby what to do!
Sister cuddles.
Our new couch.  It is definitely better than the Korean rock we used to have.
The love seat that matches the couch. The fabric is almost identical to the fabric of some chairs mom and dad have.
Yes, she can sit all by herself with no pillows and no help.  She is only 5 1/2 months old but doing this for 2 weeks. She is a rock star baby. I am sure she will crawl in no time.
The first step in the shoe tying process.
Going around the rabbit ears into the hole
Pull! She mastered this skill in only one day!!!!
Did I forget to mention that she also learned how to ride her bike.

Pre-K Graduation

I got a quick glimpse into the future today as I saw Natalie walk into a room wearing a blue cap and gown. She was graduating Pre-K and they went out with a bang.  She was absolutely darling in her little cap and gown, but I think its the first of many glimpses I will start having of my "baby" getting bigger.  If her High School graduation is as exciting for her as Pre-K Graduation, she will have a wonderful time.  Natalie received her diploma and was able to keep her little hat and tassle that has 2010 on it.  Gabby wasn't sure about what to think and spent the entire ceremony lovingly in the arms of Mrs. Kim.

The girl of the moment!!!

Daddy Daughter Dance

Last night was the annual father daughter dance at Camp Humphreys. Last year we had only just arrived and missed the dance, however, this year they were not going to miss the chance at the Father Daughter Dance.  Natalie got all dressed up, after having the harrowing task of picking which dress to wear.  I think this might be a glimpse into our future with a prissy teenage daughter.  Rick surprised Natalie with a wrist corsage which she called a "flower bracelet."  They both were excited and enjoyed a fun evening together!

He surprised her with a wrist corsage.  She was so excited!!

All dressed up and ready for her dance with her daddy!!

He looks so handsome and she is absolutely beautiful!!!

Daisy was there too!

While Natalie was at the dance with her Daddy, Gabby and I went to see Sex in the City!!! :)

She wants to go...

Eating Adventures

I have been going back and forth on whether to feed Gabby solids before six months of age. With Natalie we started Rice Cereal at 4 months and Solids at 5 months, but I didn't know what I wanted to do this time. Well, I ended up starting Gaby on Rice cereal at a little over 4 months because the girls is ALWAYS hungry.  She loved the Rice cereal and at just shy of 5 months we started her on solids.

I wanted to make sure she gets nothing but the best therefore I decided I would make her babyfood just like we did with Natalie.  We started with Carrots for little G and she loved them! We have since moved on to Sweet Peas and next will be Sweet Potatos and Squash!

Not too sure about carrots.
Interesting
                                                              Lets try some more

Green Belt

Korea is the home of Tae Kwon Do, so if you are going to learn the art of Tae Kwon Do, where better to learn it than South Korea.  Not only are you learning a part of their culture and heritage, you are gaining great mental agility, focus and dedication. Not only that its great for a child to learn the art of working for something, i.e. the next level belt. It is mini goals for them to reach, which is a great learning tool to have later in life.  Nat just recently tested for her Green Belt and it was a success!!

Getting ready to start her test.
Middle Punch
Breaking the board with Knife Hand! She did it successfully.
Sparring against Daisy.

Congratulations Natalie!

We have a toofer!!

Gabby has popped her first little tooth! At four and a half months old on the 1st of June, 2010 Gabbys bottom front right tooth made its grand appearance.  Its oh too cute and a picture will follow as soon as she lets me get the camera near her mouth!!
