Cowgirl Natalie

Being a member of the Thomas family means that you will have to be involved in the Cattle Shows in one way or another. I personally, am not a huge fan of the shows, but my brother and parents are. This weekend there was a show in Belton, Texas and my parents/brother signed Natalie up to show in the PeeWee division. In order for Natalie to look the part, MomMom went and got Natalie her first cowgirl get up. Natalie enjoyed the PeeWee show with her Uncle and the whole event was funny as ever.

Too Cute for words in her Western Shirt, Western Jeans and Boots

Who's the baby?

Natalie is exhibiting the true signs of an only child who suddenly gets a sibling. However, in her case its a cousin but nonetheless she definitely has times where she wants to be a baby too!

This is a scene I haven't seen in more than a year. She was 22 months when we took her out of the crib.

Baby Natalie.

The baby gym. We haven't used this since she was 6 months old. Amazing how it suddenly becomes her new play toy

Finally, here is the ACTUAL baby. Ian is sleeping away in his bouncer.

Flowers in Bloom

It has often been said that Spring is the most wonderful time of year. Flowers are in bloom, trees are starting to bud, the grass is green, and the temperature is warm and just asking for us to spend time out in the sun. Today was such a wonderful spring day. After spending the morning fishing, Natty and I headed back to Fort Worth. Since its Spring, it means that the Bluebonnet is blooming. Of course, if you find a patch of Bluebonnets you MUST have your childs picture taken in it. Afterall it is a Texas Tradition. On our drive back we found a small patch of Bluebonnets and I snapped a few pictures of Natalie. Finally, upon arrival in Fort Worth we noted that it was 85 degrees and sunny outside. Instead of going home we opted for the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens. They are absolutely spectacular, and I was able to get some pretty good pics of Natalie as well.

Mommy's New Car. MAZDA5. Sort of a Mini Van sort of a SUV. I LOVE IT (the best part is Natalie has yet to get car sick in it! - poor princess gets car sick)

Natty's Feet. When she was 2 months old I took a picture of her feet in Bluebonnets and I loved it. This is the followup of her BIG feet.

One Fish Two Fish, Red Fish Blue Fish

One Fish Two Fish, Red Fish Blue Fish...

This weekend was Natalie's FIRST attempt at fishing in the tank on our property. It was a beautiful day yesterday, the sun was shining, the air was warm, and perfect for spending the afternoon in the sun. Therefore we went fishing.

Natalie and I took off first fishing pole in hand and DadDad followed up on the Tractor so he could clear a path for us to walk on. We made it to the tank, Nat in her boots, Mommy in flip flops and we treaded through the tall grass, soggy ground and bugs to the waters edge where we attempted to fish. Did we catch any fish? No, we caught weeds until DadDad came to the rescue. He led us to a different part of the tank where there were less weeds. This meant that Nat and I had to tread through the soggy ground, over the weeds, around the bushes until we met up with DadDad. There DadDad fixed mommy's failed attempt at getting hooks on the line. Once all the technicalities of fishing were finished, it was time to cast the line. One, Two, Three... DadDad and Nat cast the line into the tank and to everyone's surprise caught a fish. Not just any fish but a Large Mouth Bass! This was extremely exciting for Natalie and for us since we had no clue that there were bass in the tank. We tossed the little fish back into the tank and cast the line again. On our second attempt we caught another Bass! What luck two bass on the first two casts. Now we were not successful the rest of fishing adventure but Natalie sure had fun and that is what mattered the most.

Sunday morning Nat woke up and asked to go fishing again. This time Nat and I tackled fishing alone! No men to get the fish off the line for us. We took off in our pajamas and boots (no flip flops for mommy) and went to the tank. We fished for a little while and only caught weeds until we decided we would try one more time then go home. On our last cast Nat caught a fish. Another bass. What luck! This time I had to summon all the strength and grab the slimy fish with my hands and dig the hook out of his mouth all by myself while Nat sat on the side and laughed. Definitely a sight to see.

Here are the pictures of our adventures!

Natalie thought she could fit in her old Bouncer that we got out for Ian.
