This past weekend Natalie had a Tae Kwon Do tournament near the North Korean Border. I think we might have been about 15 min from the DMZ!!! Regardless of that, she was extremely excited for her first contest. We had to leave at 5:30 in the morning and drive 3 hours to the competition. Driving in Korea is definitely not a leisurely 3 hour drive down I-35. We arrived at the gymnasium around 8:45 and the kids got all set up. Natalie didn't compete until noon, but she had fun watching the other kids compete. The Korean children are like ballerinas performing Martial Arts. Its amazing! Natalie was competing with the "colored" belts, i.e. those belts that are not black. She was the lowest colored belt but ended up placing 3rd in her age bracket! Way to go little girl! She has a huge competitive spirit, not sure if its a mixture of her mother or her father, but either way its adorable. I think I might have been more nervous for her performance than she was. I thought I was going to hurl I was so anxious!
At the end of the night Natalie was putting on a show for Gabby and Gabby was cracking up.
