"This is the worst day of my whole life." At this point I am laughing hysterically into my jacket and her father is smiling.
"This is the worst day of my whole life and I am upset with you and you!" As she points her finger at me and her father. He continues to tell her that its not the end of the world and all I can do it laugh. This continues on for another five minutes until we get to our destination.
Now the second act begins. Natalie finds out she is going to get a shot. I bravely go first showing her its going to be okay. Rick sits down, Natalie in his lap. She is already crying. She hasn't even been touched and her face is bright red with tears erupting like hot lava from a volcano. I manage to get her arm out of her shirt while she is thrashing about like an epileptic having a seizure. Finally, with the help of a nurse Rick, the nurse and myself restrain a thrashing four year old whose strength is unheard of. A second nurse jabs the little tyke in her arm. Natalie gets a sucker and the crying lasts another 10 minutes or so. I can't say its easy giving her shots. Rick is now the designated parent when it comes to Natalie's immunizations. Too bad he has to go back with her next month as she receives her Hepatitis vaccine.
All the while she repeats "This is the worst day of my whole life!"
Yup, thats right. The worst day in her whole 4 years of life! I am so glad she can express her feelings and emotions, but if this is a peek into the next several years of life. I can't wait for the teenage years!
